Letter to Chapter Almoners

Letter to all Chapter Almoners from the MEGS Noel C. Manby. 28th April 2020.

I hope you and your loved ones are keeping both healthy and safe during this period of difficulty and uncertainty for us all.

You will be well aware from the recent Provincial Bulletin issued to all Craft masons, there continues to be a great deal of work being undertaken by the Provincial Executive and individual masons to maintain the principles and tenets of Freemasonry during this unprecedented time of suspension and lockdown.

As Chapter Almoner, you have a very important role to play during this period when we are unable to meet. Therefore, if you have not already done so, I would ask you, in conjunction with the Chapter Principals and Scribe E, to establish a system within your Chapter to maintain regular contact with all your companions, particularly the more vulnerable and newer members, to ensure they are getting the support they may need, but have not asked for, during these very challenging times.

The Provincial Grand Almoner, E. Comp. Steve Johnson, should always be notified of any cases of illness, hardship or bereavement in your Chapter so the Province can respond sympathetically when appropriate. As stated in my letter jus

t before Easter, there is a great deal of help available both locally and nationally.

Freemasonry has faced many challenges in the past and I am sure that with your dedication and that of all our companions we will weather this current storm and emerge stronger and more relevant than before.

Please take good care of yourselves and I look forward to resuming our Royal Arch activities in the not too distant future.

Kind regards

Yours faithfully & fraternally

Noel C. Manby
